Who is Gold-N-Blue Barbecue?

Gold-N-Blue Barbecue is a competition BBQ team based out of Martinsburg, WV. In 2018 we decided to try our hand at competition barbecue as a way to bring our families together as well as get out and meet new people who also share a passion of barbecue, great food, and even better times. What we found, is that the competition barbecue scene is a very diverse melting pot of sights, people, and passions. We made a lot of new friends and talked to a lot of people we met at these events. This love of meeting new people and talking to spectators caused us to get hooked immediately and we constantly find ourselves coming up with new ways to build upon our philosophy of having a great time while promoting great barbecue, not just at events, but everyday.

Gold-N-Blue Barbecue is made up of husband and wife pit masters Travis and Lauren Murphy. Their parents, Dave and Joni Murphy, and John Paul and Loretta Jones, serve as assistant cooks and help with logistics. Rounding out the team is Travis' aunt and uncle, Chris and Karen Nicewarner who serve as the team's bartenders and cheer squad. Each member brings their own and unique ideas and flair to Gold-N-Blue, but at the end of the day, we are all one big Family!
